With Flight Circle, you can schedule flights, track coursework, download aviation handbooks, keep documents and logbooks online, review payment history and receive emails reminders.
You can begin your flight training today with a Discovery Flight. And there is no age requirement to fly with an instructor. When you are ready to solo, you'll need a student pilot certificate, be 16+ years of age and be proficient in English.
Flight lessons are typically about 2 hours in length. This would include 5-10 minutes of preflight inspection of the airplane, 10-15 minutes of preflight briefing to review previous flight items and a thorough discussion of how to accomplish this flight’s goals. The flight itself will usually last between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes, followed by a post-flight briefing and what you can look forward to for next time.
Per FAA requirements, you will receive a minimum of 40 hours of flight training in an assortment of topics and skills plus additional ground training to acquire the knowledge required for the FAA Written Exam and Practical Exam. An individual that can commit to accomplishing one ground or flight lesson every day and the required “homework” to prepare for that lesson, can accomplish their training in approximately 60 days (weather permitting).
The FAA requires a minimum of 40 hours of flight time including 20 hours of dual instruction to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate. In a Cherokee 140 at First Team Pilot Training, this would cost you over $6,000 not including ground instruction (15-30 hours), pilot supplies and FAA exam fees. 55 hours is about the average flight time for most part-time students. Expect to pay around $10,000 for a Private Pilot Certificate.
